Photoshop

When creating this newly defined image of this luxurious car I had to experience many growing pains with Adobe Photoshop. When I began the first step i took was cropping the large black boarders from the original picture. These black boarders came from the result of taking the original picture on my iPhone and sending it to my computer via email. After that step i decided that the image needed some cleaning up to do. If you notice on the first image there seems to be a black oil stain under the car. My magazine is abut luxury and class so I immediately decided to remove the stain. To do this it required much research from other websites and YouTube videos. Essentially what i did was that i cropped out a portion of the pavement that was not stained and saved that cropped portion to then which i put that same piece over the oil spill creating the illusion that the spill had been covered up. This was all done to remove any blemishes the image may have that could lower the level of luxury or class the picture had. In addition, the next step i took in Photoshop was making the background of the image blurry while maintaining the crisp presentation of the car. To do this I outlined the car with the magnetic lasso tool, clicked on "select", pressed inverse, clicked on the blur tool and blurred the background, The purpose of this was to make the expensive vehicle stand out while at the same time ignore the rather bland "super market plaza" that the car was parked in. Finally, the last Photoshop technique i used was increasing the saturation of the image in order to make the colors pop changing the bland red of the car to a sharp crimson. a simple slider allows one to do this and the purpose was to add more brightness and liveliness to the picture as well, emphasizing the presence of the car. I am not sure if i will utilize this picture in the final product of the magazine.
