Table of Contents 2

Breaking down my table of contents further down will reveal many different aspects of media studies. One of which would be picture I used, Originally the picture was an establishing shot of the luxurious Biltmore Hotel in Miami, Florida. Unfortunately, when it came to translating that same picture into the Indesign program it turned out that i had to crop out the picture in a drastic way in order for the picture to fit on the page.In addition to that I used several rulers to line up all the different texts together at first there was a noticeable amount of a lack of alignment making it seem disorganized and out of place. original draft        The selection of the picture came from my trip down downtown Miami where many luxury housing and hotels can be found. Since my magazine revolves around luxury, investing, living, and real estate I thought it would be great to include in my magazine. The colored words themselves were altered by me in the creation process. The words

Table of Contents

In the creative process of designing the table of contents I heavily relied on Kiplinger's magazine and how they would design their table of contents. For the most part, Kiplinger magazine has a very minimalist designing method. They use a blank white background and generally only include one picture in the contents. To add color some of the sub headings are marked with a different color. In addition their table of contents only spawn one page. With all of this being said, it can be concluded that kiplinger has a relativity simple structure. Since my magazine "Financial Affairs" draws heavy influence from kiplinger in many aspects it would only make the sense to have similar, but not the same, type of table of contents. Example of Kiplinger's table of contents  One of the main aspects of creating a table of contents like this would be the section of a photograph that can sell my magazine. All of the pictures that Kiplinger used were picture that stood out w

Spreading the Wealth part two

Image
The creative process for my magazine was very minimal as I just wanted to focus on a proven design that works and that could suit the photos in my spread the best. The columns are placed to dill the empty spaces under the image that already encompassed both pages. The text is separated in almost a bullet form style but with the bullets missing because I believe that using bullets makes the magazine look less sophisticated and childish. The branding comes in the form of this bullet style form of giving information since in the front of the magazine there is a large red circle advertising "35 tips " which lets my reader know that the magazine has easily understandable information and is not a wordy or complicated magazine.        The pictures also had a minimal process of creativity since the only modifications to them were that i cropped them so they could fit and fill the page better. I tried to keep the pictures simple since I Just want to add emphasis to t

When creating my spread I waned to translate the many ideas that I used when designing my cover so I decided to maintain the same fonts as before, Because of this the main heading of my spread used the blush script font that can be compared to a type of cursive which conveys the idea of a fancy type of writing that is comparable to a some sort of extravagance. In addition to that i would made the font of the regular writing the font Franklin Gothic which is big and easy to use which was important because that is the main section that my readers would be drawn to. I decided that my spread would discuss real estate as that is a topic that interested me when i mentioned it in a previous blog post. Housing id a good business to start when looking in owning a luxurious house in the future. The tips found in my spread are the same tips that could be used by anyone when it comes to owning a house that has value and class, The pictures come from my photo shoot were taken

Creating the cover " The beginning"

Image
When creating the cover of my magazine i took into account the types of photographic techniques when choosing the picture for the cover and any other modifications that I added to the picture afterwards. Before I even touched Adobe Photoshop or Indesign I wanted to capture a picture that could show some sort of resemblance to the financial world of investing and fiance. One picture that I captured when driving around the extravagant neighborhoods of Brickell in Miami was of the TD Ameritrade bank. The technique I decided to utilize was an establishing shot of the whole bank with the fancy buildings in the back towering over the scenery as well to show that the bank is in a metropolitan area. In addition to that when choosing the camera angle I included a slight tilt to the picture in order to almost imitate the same movement a tourist would do when looking at at a large building in a big city. This emphasized the importance of the building and that it is not just any regular bui
